1st Gilwell Park Scout Group / Gilwell Troop 1
Oct 4th, 2008 by Nick
As soon as you complete your Wood Badge training, you automatically become a member of the largest Scout Group in the world, 1st Gilwell Park Scout Group / Gilwell Troop 1.
I’ve found out today that the Scout Association are in the process of setting up a web site for 1st Gilwell and also issuing a regular newsletter. You can join up here and be told when the site is live – should be quite interesting!

That’s great. As a member of the Gilwell Troop 1, it will be nice to have a place on the internet to share in this fantastic troop.
As we have discussed, Wood Badge is conducted differently in each of our countries, but the fact that it is designed as the training of our founder, a tradition passed on since the first training on Gilwell.
I am proud to wear my beads and Gilwell Necker.
Have a Great Scouting Day!
Hopefully they will reflect the worldwide nature of 1st Gilwell and maybe show Wood Badge holders from many countries.
I have to say that I’m very positive about the whole international angle of Scouting!!
