{"id":108,"date":"2007-02-15T11:33:01","date_gmt":"2007-02-15T11:33:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.nawbus.co.uk\/?p=108"},"modified":"2007-02-15T11:37:32","modified_gmt":"2007-02-15T11:37:32","slug":"london-england","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.nawbus.co.uk\/?p=108","title":{"rendered":"London, England"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"justify\">I find it very amusing during American film or TV series, that whenever they show a new city, they always caption the city&#39;s name and state e.g. Los Angeles, CA.<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">However, when somewhere outside the USA is mentioned, the caption is &#39;London, England&#39; followed by pictures of Big Ben, Tower Bridge etc. Now I know most Americans don&#39;t know much about the outside world, but you&#39;d have to be fairly thick to assume that <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/dajze\" target=\"_blank\">London<\/a> referred to <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/n2v8w\" target=\"_blank\">London, Ontario <\/a>(that&#39;s <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/64n26\" target=\"_blank\">Canada<\/a>!) or <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/2wdwts\" target=\"_blank\">London, Minnesota<\/a>!<br \/> But I guess Hollywood has to make things as idiot proof as possible!<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">When Carol and I were in Canada, they showed foreign news on the TV. They made a point of showing the Special Olympics which were on at the time. In America, the only foreign news was Iraq and sod all about the Special Olympics.
